Well here we have the beginnings of a little site about Chrissie Hammond. It is quite probable it will stay very small because I don't actually have a lot of information on her!

England born and Melbourne bred and now living in London, Chrissie is perhaps best known to many for her work in musical theatre. She is particularly noted for her role as Grizabella in Cats in the London production till it closed and in the 2003 and 2004 UK touring productions. In between she appeared in the London production of Chicago.

Prior to that she was a rock vocalist, having been one half of the early 80s duo "Cheetah" with her older sister Lyndsay and performed lead vocals on several albums by Rick Wakeman in the 90s. Chrissie and Lyndsay still occasionally reform Cheetah to perform live and a European tour was being talked about for 2005 though I don't think it ever happened. However Cheetah were touring in Australia in late 2006.

Unfortunately I'm not at all up to date on Chrissie's activities. Indeed I don't have much idea what she was up to in 2005 or in 2006, though I do know she had another stint in Chicago in London from at least December 2005 (if not earlier) to April 2006. It does seem that she is back with the Cats UK touring company in 2007.
