A collection of things that have now happened, might happen, probably wont happen, and ones that I haven't thought too much about yet. Feature requests and suggestions are welcome.
|Support 'official' Scout fonts.||Needs commercial fonts.|
|The official 'on brand' fonts for headers on web sites are versions of 'TheSerif'. This is a curious choice as they are commercial fonts and it is unlikely that the majority of web site visitors are going to have them installed. It isn't possible to support these fonts in the theme without having them to work with. Should they be made available then they will be investigated to see if there is a way to incorporate them usefully.|
|Use WordPress built in navigation menu.||Something has broken.|
|Since version 3.4.4 the theme has supported WP Navigation Menus in six locations with basic styling. It would appear that over time even this basic styling has broken as the background colour has vanished from lower levels.|
|Menus on touch screen devices.||Recognised issue.|
|The theme uses pure HTML/CSS menus which rely on the CSS :hover pseudo-class to activate the drop downs. Unfortunately browsers on most touch screen devices don't support hovering. There are some tricks that can help get around this but it can get fiddly. For example some devices do have a mechanism where the first touch is a hover and the second touch is a click so they have to be considered separately to other touch screens, and touch devices can't be treated completely differently because some laptops have both a mouse and a touch screen. The best solution at the moment is to make sure your visitors can navigate your site just using single clicks. It needs thinking about.|
