'The British Reconnaissance Corps in World War II' was published in 2007 as number 152 in Osprey's 'Elite' series. It is written by Richard Doherty, author of 'Only The Enemy In Front', but benefits greatly from the excellent illustrations by Rob Chapman. There is little, perhaps nothing, in the book about 44 Recce that isn't already covered more comprehensively in 'Only The Enemy In Front' though the different presentation of material on the Recce Corps in general makes it well worth a read.

There are several other books from Osprey that might be of interest. An excellent book for giving background on all the various campaigns and battles in the Middle-East and Mediterranean is 'The British Army 1939–45 (2)', which is number 368 in their 'Men-At-Arms' series. Those interested in the uniforms may need to read it in tandem with the number 354 in the series which covers North-West Europe.
